We’re always happy to answer questions about what we do, but here are some of the things we regularly get asked about.
Can I extend my stay?
If we have rooms available, yes. But bear in mind that you will have plenty of time to explore the village after each workshop, so you might prefer a change of scene. Toulouse is around an hour away by train and is a lovely, mellow city with plenty of vegan options. The nearby world heritage site of Albi is a good choice too. Staying means you’ll have more opportunity to go cycling or walking in this beautiful area and if you have a car you can visit attractions further afield.
Can your courses be adapted for gluten free?
Mostly yes, but get in touch before you book.
Will I have to share my room?
Not unless you want to. If you book a place on the course and a room, you will be the only person in the room.
Are all meals provided?
We offer a simple meal on your first evening and breakfast every day. Making lunch is part of the workshops, and in the evening you’re welcome to eat what you’ve made. There is always plenty of food, so there’s no need to eat out if you don’t want to.
You have no rooms left for the course I want to do. Will I still enjoy the course?
Yes! You will be welcome to join in with everything that’s happening here. You can come for breakfast if you like and you can join everyone else eating what you’ve cooked in the evening.
You have no rooms left for the course I want to do, so where can I stay?
We always recommend our friends Lisa and Richard whose lovely, vegan friendly b&b is on our street. They’ll give you a 10% discount if you tell them you’re doing a course with us. Other options are plentiful and our village is so small, you’ll always be close by. There are several other b&bs, and lots of airbnbs in the village. There’s even a quiet camp site if that’s your thing.
Can I bring my companion animal?
Sorry, no, although we do accept service dogs. There is a b&b on our street who accept dogs, but you’d need to come with someone who will look after the dog while you’re cooking. There’s also a well reviewed kennel in a nearby village. No web site, but email is lavilladandrea82@gmail.com
I would love to stay with you but don’t want to do a course..
Sorry, we no longer do b&b, but we occasionally do gourmet weekends. They’re on our calendar.
Can I do a French class during my stay?
Contact Marie-Claude Lafitole. She is a couple of minutes walk from us and will do private classes. She also does fabulous tours of the village which help you get more from its remarkable architecture and history.
Will I have time to do other things during the course?
Yes! We typically finish each day between 3 and 4 (depending how fast you cook and how much you talk (!) so there’s plenty of time to wander around the village or go for walks in the stunning countryside on our doorstep.
Can you do a course just for me and my family/friends?
Yes! We can run one of our standard courses just for you, or do something bespoke. We love doing this, friendship and family groups are really fun to work with. Let’s talk!
Do you offer private classes?
Yes! They are more expensive than signing up for one of our residentials, but can be tailored to your needs and we’ll cover more ground in the time. Let’s talk!
I’m a chef/restauranteur needing to up my vegan game.
We can help you acquire the skills you need to provide vegan dishes which are every bit as good as your non-vegan food. We can also help you develop dishes which fit with your existing menu. Contact us to start a conversation.
Will you cater for my event?
We get a lot of catering enquiries but we have to decline most of them because we’re simply too busy.
I have a nut allergy. Can I still do a course?
We use a lot of nuts in our kitchen, so if you have a serious nut allergy it would not be a safe environment for you. If you’re OK being around nuts, it may be possible, depending which course you’re interested in. Talk to us before you book.
Do you offer single day courses?
We never schedule single day courses, but we can offer bespoke private courses for up to 6 people.
Can you host my group?
Possibly. If we don’t have an event running we might be willing to do something vegan friendly for your group. You could have a private course, either one of our standard offerings or something bespoke, Peter can do cycling or walking holidays or you could simply spend your vacation here with some meals provided and with access to our local knowledge. You would have to rent all our rooms for that to work. Maximum group size would be 8 people, depending on how much room sharing you’re OK with. Get in touch for more.
